Resource network
The resource network lists what your members and partners are willing to share: skills (such as GIS mapping or Spanish translation), tools (a projector, a van), facilities (a meeting room) and what partnerships offer. Members can see when each resource is available and ask to use it.
Nothing is shared without consent. A resource appears to others only while its owner's consent to share it is in force. Withdrawing consent hides it immediately.
The resource network is its own part of the app: Resources in the Initiatives sub-navigation, when your plan includes it. It has three views: Directory, Requests and Partnerships.
Sharing a resource
Any member can add a resource they own from the directory. Give it a kind, a name, a description, optional skills and where it is. Then choose Who can see it:
- Only me: private. Nobody else sees it. Use this to keep a draft or stop sharing for a while.
- One project: members with a role in that project, plus members with an org-wide role other than reader.
- Everyone in the organization.
Choosing to share records your consent, with the scope "resource sharing", in the organization's consent records. Setting the resource back to Only me withdraws it. The directory shows a consent indicator on each shared resource.
Availability
On a resource's page, the owner adds windows when it is available: Every week (a weekday and hours, in a time zone) or one-off Dates (from and until). Availability is information for people asking; the app does not book anything automatically.
Requests
On a resource you can see, use Ask to use it: say when you need it from and until, add a message to the owner and, optionally, the initiative it is for. The owner sees it under Requests and accepts or declines it, then marks an accepted request completed once it is done. The person who asked can withdraw it until then:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Requested | Waiting for the owner |
| Accepted | The owner agreed |
| Declined | The owner said no |
| Withdrawn | The person who asked no longer needs it |
| Completed | The owner marked it done after use |
Partnerships
A partnership records an outside organization that works with you: the Partner, What it covers, its term (Starts, Ends) and a Steward, the member who looks after it. Project leads and owners record partnerships.
A partnership needs the partner's consent before its offers are shared: say How they agreed (web form, written form, verbal, at an event sign-up, a partner offer, or an import), and when. If the agreement runs out, set Until: the consent lapses after that day and the offers are hidden again. Evidence attaches the signed agreement or the email, from the workspace's uploaded documents (upload it first). Without live consent, a partnership is visible only to its steward, project leads and owners. When a partner withdraws, record it; their offers disappear from the directory at once.
The steward, project leads and owners can change a partnership under Manage → Edit partnership: the partner's name, the steward, what it covers, the notes and the term.
Something they offer adds a resource to the partnership, such as a meeting room. It is shared under the partnership's consent. Whoever added an offer can change its name, place and description on the offer's page; who sees it still follows the partner's consent.
Expertise
Expertise in the sub-navigation is the organization's skills directory. Each member writes their own profile: a Headline and Skills, separated by commas. A profile is visible to others only when its member ticks Listed in the organization directory, which records their consent to a directory listing. Untick it to withdraw; the profile disappears from the directory at once. Nobody can list someone else.
